August has come and gone and September looms ahead, full of gaming opportunities. Here is a short list of must-remember events for the month of September. This is by no means an exhaustive list of events, so always be sure to check your local store’s calendar.
Island of Blood- In case you don’t remember, Island of Blood releases on September 4th. This new starter set for Warhammer Fantasy is crammed with good stuff. A must-have for sure.
The Wall of Sul at the Fashion Mall Commons- September 11th will see the Fashion Mall Commons store reenact one of the most famous battles of Warmachine lore. Menoth and their Mercenary allies will have to try their hand at holding off all comers as each of the factions of the Iron Kingdoms fight to destroy them.
Warhammer Fantasy Battle Royale- On September the 25th the Fashion Mall Commons store challenges all Warhammer Fantasy players to compete in a series of multi-player Battle Royales (as per the scenario on page 406 of the main rulebook). Fabulous prizes, in addition to bragging rights, await the winner of this King of the Hill style event.
Scars of Mirrodin Pre-Release- September the 26th (or the 25th depending on your store) is the date for the pre-release of Magic the Gathering’s newest set, and the beginning of a new block of Magic sets. Say goodbye to Shards of Alara and hello to Scars of Mirrodin!
As I said above, this is by no means the whole list of everything cool going on at your local Game Preserve, so be sure to check in with your store to make sure you aren’t missing anything.
